Event Format

This event will be a Poster Session. For those unfamiliar, think adult science fair. Presenters will each have a poster about their winning Hackaday.io project arranged in one large space. Each presenter will stand by their poster throughout the duration of the poster session discussing their project with approaching attendees.

Presenters

Selected Hackaday Prize Semi-Finalists will create one poster each about one Hackaday.io project to present on Friday at the Hackaday Superconference. These presenters will be invited one at a time and invitations will be slowly released until all 10 spots are filled. The order in which people are invited will be based on how interesting we expect a poster on their project will be, and how unique the project is from other projects already invited. Each poster will come with one free ticket to the Supercon.

Presenting in the Poster Session is separate from any talks you may or may not be giving at the Supercon.

Poster Format

Each Presenter will create a poster based on one of the 3 poster session templates created by the Supplyframe creative team. Link to Templates

Poster Pictures

Pictures should be of your project or of your testing process. They should not be pictures of preexisting infographics, your other projects, your cat, you (you'll be there!), or anything else not directly related to your project.

Poster Content

We suggest in your poster you include:
1) A one-sentence description of what your project is.
2) What problem your project solves or what the purpose of your project is.
3) An overview of how your project works.
4) What the results or the current state of your project are. Results can be shown quantitatively with measured test results or qualitatively with how your project was put to use after its creation.

In addition to the above, here are some optional topics to consider adding:
1) A description of your single favorite design decision in detail.
2) Stories or challenges from the design and creation process.
3) Next steps for your project. What will be done next to or with this work?

Poster Printing & Deadline

Digital copies of your poster should be sent to stranovich@hackaday.io by September 24th for review. If your poster does not meet the standards outlined above you will be asked to update your poster.

Once accepted, your posters will be printed by Supplyframe / Hackaday and will be there (with easels) for you to present with on Friday, November 2nd.
