Right, but if you didn't happen to see that list because you were busy or something and had the mistaken impression that in addition to the contest reminders sent by email that the fact that you were no longer in the contest would also be sent by email, then you might be confused. Or perhaps, you did see the list but had a bit of social palsy and didn't make the connection that not being on the list meant you were out of the running, because in fact you would have to infer it because it is not actually, specifically stated anywhere that "If you are not on this list, you are no longer in the contest, better luck next time". Maybe adding that sentence somewhere in that announcement would be one for the suggestion box. It just seems like common courtesy.

Hey J Groff, we posted the semifinalist list on the blog, and didn't send out elimination notices as it smacked of rubbing it in. BTW - You officially submitted your project before the deadline, so you will be rewarded for being a Quarterfinalist. Thanks for entering, better luck next time.
