You're welcome :) I have a few boxes of various old hardware in my basement and I wish to homebrew something that resembles a computer with them sometime™ so I'm now looking at others' projects for inspiration and interesting ideas when I finally get down to building something.
Excellent. There are lots of projects along those lines 'round here! Mine's using an old motherboard, and installing a different processor I'm more familiar with. Others I've been following range everywhere from building computers from discrete transistors, to TTL chips, to FPGAs, to building single-board-computers using old processors and implementing support-circuitry/peripherals (which used to require quite a few dedicated chips) in an AVR or CPLD. There's a lot of ideas to gain!
When "sometime™" comes around, it'll be cool to see what you come up with.
Howdy! Thanks for the follow!
