Better might be the Cricket Asset Tracker which uses LoRa/LoRaWAN instead of wifi and at two hour GNSS fix and 10 minute LoRaWAN Tx intervals uses just 300 uA of power. Here are some links:

This is really exciting progress! I've been following your MPU6050 stuff and IMU comparison since long ago and I was happy to find your state-of-the art in this project! Probably I'll try a board for this low-power combination, as it's so well-documented ;-)
