Welcome to the first ever Hackaday event in Manchester! 🚀

We are partnering with Aquaponics Lab and FabLab, a local group dedicated to revolutionising agriculture.

On the day we will be on hand to tell you more about about Hackaday World Create Day, getting you ready for the Saturday activities, helping you refine your ideas, explaining some of the tools available at FabLab and why you should have a go at entering the 2016 Hackaday Prize design concept challenge.

On Saturday you'll be joining teams from around the globe, submitting ideas for projects that solve problems in categories from citizen science to assistive technologies, or anything else that leverages your hardware, coding, scientific, design and mechanical skills.

The most spectacular design solutions will be shared on the Hackaday front page, and there will be prizes. But we also want to celebrate the fun of getting together in person with all of the people who make Hackaday a part of their daily ritual, so share your photos and ideas with hashtag #WorldCreateDay!

    Hey there everyone,

Just wanted to post a bit of an update on the event - it was awesome! As you'll see from some of the photos the weather was amazing, a great day to sit outside in the sun or work on world changing ideas.

The turnout was small but as usual FabLab drew the top quality attendees. We build a variety of things: some of us were working on the aquaponics project (our kind supporters for the evening) whilst others were CAD drawings, server instances, and laser cut sensor cases.

Looking forward to Saturday where I'll be able present the Hackaday Prize and World Create Day to even more people. More photos below.

    Best 🚀

    Alan
