Come to SCALE 14x Game night

To show its support for the SCALE community, Supplyframe is sponsoring Game Night. We'd love you to join us for drinks, games, food and fun at SCALE's 6th Annual Game Night on Saturday 23 Jan!

Come play games and make friends with open-hardware and open-source enthusiast. There is so much planned for this fun packed social: Pool, Air Hockey, Vintage Video Games, Board Games, Nerf Artillery. Plus a Mini Quadcopter black light obstacle course, flying alien globes, and a Mini RC Motorcycle Racetrack.

Want to come hang out, but not so into games? Don't worry, there's also FIVE THOUSAND SQUARE FEET of special surprises curtained off in the exhibit hall which involves friendly strolling, and we promise, no computers whatsoever. There's even a Movie Theater where you can put your feet up.

This year, you'll get to enjoy the first ever SCALE Museum. The theme is Rise of the Machines: A Living Timeline. This is a display of historic engineering, computing devices, and other clever gadgets. If you have a vintage electronic item or geeky gadget you'd like to show off contact lori@socallinuxexpo.org.

Please note: There is a special Family Hour from 8-9pm. If you want to miss the kids party, general admission is from 9 pm until Midnight, otherwise bring the little ones and enjoy.

Hackaday Show & Tell at SCALE 14x Game Night - Bring your projects!

Got an open-source or game themed project to share with SCALErs? We really want to see them. Have a mini quadcopter you'd like to race, a black light interactive piece, or ground RC vehicles, get in touch with me!

Very small things you can bring on the night, but if you have RC or larger items, please email me with a few details of your project in advance - jasmine@hackaday.com. We need to know so we can arrange access, a great spot; plus there are some venue restrictions, and we don't want you to be disappointed.

We'll have a bunch of the Hackaday & Supplyframe team including out-of-towners Brian Benchoff, Sophi Kravitz, and more (obviously me).

More about SCALE 14X – the 14th annual Southern California Linux Expo

We're so excited that SCaLE 14x will be happening in Pasadena 21-24 Jan 2016! If you're into Open-Source and Linux, you're going to love it too.

This year the expo will host 150 exhibitors, along with nearly 130 sessions, tutorials and special events. SCaLE is the largest community-run open-source and free software conference in North America. It is held annually in Los Angeles.

The lovely SCaLE team have invited Hackaday to have a presence at the expo, so if you can't make it to the Game Night, you can still stop by to say hi and pick up the limited ed SCaLE/Hackaday sticker.

Getting a pass

You will need to register and purchase either a $15 Expo-Only Pass, or you can use the code 'HACK' to get 50% off the Full-Access Pass making it a mere $42.50 for the whole four days of programming for the Southern California Linux Expo.

Register for passes on the SCaLE 14x website:
https://reg.socallinuxexpo.org/reg6/

Cash-strapped, but enthusiastic? There are volunteer opportunities helping at the Hackaday booth over the weekend (message me), or with SCaLE directly.

Got something really amazing for Show & Tell? We may be able to comp you a pass for that too.
