Bits

Ron wrote 11/06/2022 at 23:02 point

Hi. I love the design, and am planning on building one. I'm a bit confused about the discussion on rewinding the rotor of the generator. Can you tell me whether that is required, or was it just an experiment during development? Thank you for sharing your work!

Before starting to modify the factory winding of the motor, I recommend that you experiment a bit and write down the voltages you can obtain as standard. It can be a bit challenging if you've never tried it before. You could charge LiFePo4 type batteries that require much lower charging voltage, around 2.8V-3.2V. If you still decide to do it, consult me and I will explain other details. Cheers

Thank you for the near instantaneous reply! I appreciate it. I will indeed check before doing anything to change it. It appeared from some of the log discussion that you might have found the original configuration inadequate.

I'll check back after I see how it turns out.
