Probably. We have a true ecological disaster nearby with illegal landfills.

Legal ones are also not eco-friendly and standard-compliant.

People in near-landfill towns are nearly dying when gas erupts. 

I think about detecting H2S and some other stuff.

Also sometimes landfills are hidden within abandoned buildings so would be nice to sniff up those.

I have some (not really successfull) experience with designing a mobile motherboard in kicad. Maybe that might be helpful.
