Hi Benjamin, I want to make a suggestion about mantis. I think that mapping pressure from fingers to vibration pads built into where it mounts to the arm would be a lot more natural way to get feedback than a LED on a heads up display. just a few loops on a coil that is near a small magnet. the variation in amplitude or even frequency would feel enough like varying pressure and the brain would quickly remap the touch feeling from the stump to the fingers.
I'm flattered to read your offer. But I´m afraid I can´t give you an answer at this moment. Please. Let me explain you.
The reason is because I haven´t bought the required boards. (An arduino due and 2 arduino nano) Also I will change and improve the servo system... So. An improvement in the aesthetics at this time will be pointless. Also you must know that the chasis will be molded in Aluminium 6262 t9 covered in 3k carbon fiber and all the parts will be hand-made (except for the bearings. the electronics (boards and electrodes) and the pneumatic support). So. That´s the reason why the design look very "linear" and a more complex design means a more complex develop.
Please. Don´t take this as a "No". Let me improve the servo system response and buy the electronics and I´ll let you know.
