The meaning of "Completed Project" on hackaday.io
Kevin Uhlir wrote 06/09/2015 at 16:10 • 2 pointsMany of my projects don't end up "Completed", but are upgraded over over time. Some projects are complete enough (with instructions, etc) for others to build their own. Would these be considered "Completed" ?

As an aside, I wonder if hackers would feel more or less satisfied if they spent five minutes defining goals during the planning process.

Maybe we could have a vapourware tag :)

The only interpretations for "completed" I came up with is:
A) a euphemism for "yeah it's working, and I COULD do all the details to completeto finisht it, if not all the other interesting things and projects will come in the way somehow and there is this new <whatever>....., and hell I think I won't do any more any time soon (other than get it prentable for the next makerfair)"
B) it's the a simple way to detect a liar ;-)

ok I'll try not to be in category B

Am thinkink this is a personality-test... except, there's no way to filter tag-searches by personality.

I think I would mark something as completed if it a) works, and b) I've moved on to something else.

This sounds like as good a set of criteria as any. When I want to work on something else I wrap up documentation and mark it complete. After all, you can change your mind later.

#Bury it under the noise floor, #WebRemote and #Murum Lux. I've marked "Completed". #ViamSonus (Audio router) WAS completed, but I re-opened it when I decided to riff on it. So I think we have the same operating definition.
I'd say that "complete" must be defined by the creator.

Eh.. I don't think I'll ever mark a project 'completed'. That's not why I do projects.

exactly!

IMHO, yes... but what do I know, I am just a hack with a bunch of my own semi-completed projects ;-)
