This article is about my Button Cell Car project that moves the DC motor with a few button cells connected in series.

This is one of those Do Not Do This At Home projects because of high costs of button cells.
You can see my toy working in this video:
Step 1: Make the Car
When making the car each milligram is important. Initially I used blue tack. Then I started replacing blue tack with masking tape. I realised that the motor is not pulling the weight of the car.

Step 2: Testing
I tried adding connecting additional batteries in series. I found that my project went over well over budget with each button cell costing about $3 and quickly discharging when the turn ON the motor.

Conclusion
The article was accepted by Crazy Mechanics because it is a weird idea of making direct drive car without PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) controller. An alternative is the use of mechanical gears to obtain the required force needed to move the car.
