I use these in commercial products. one gottcha, is that the battery [if any] must be seperated from communications "bus" by large inductance [wire or choke]. http://yamar.com/products/

the problem with any retrofit is running cables unobtrusively, I.e. in walls, under floors, in roof spaces, hence wireless communication with controls that replace your wall switches is a lot more achieveable.

This could be wonderful for powering small micro controllers that also power the device could be DC. Some sort of break out board

As I understand it you are suggesting that you could control lights or other appliances plugged into (and powered by) standard 120V AC outlets using DC-BUS technology in order to send commands over this same connection?
