I have about 10 VT-100 terminals (well, some are VT-101, VT-102, VT-105, and VT-180). I have a working one connected to a mostly working VAX 750.

Hello,
Did you ever get a beep recording? From the hardware description of the sound I'm guessing the RC circuit should generate a triangle wave like sound.

I'd joke and say it's probably not theirs to choose how to release.
I can't really help, other than say a recording's probably not gonna sound the best, spare someone wiring directly into the speaker, but that's probably a bit much.
Still, I'm assuming the tone is relitivly simple, so once you have an even low quality recording you should be able to recreate it.

@Ryan Mitchell Nice input, i can try recreating it from a low quality recording.
