Grove Experiences, anyone?

In order to finish my #Aquariumatic prototype I'm sorely tempted to grab an Arduino grove shield (or a grove i2c hub) and use that to add my relays and sensors to the DIN Rail enclosure.
There are relays modules, temperature modules and pH sensor modules so It would make finishing up a lot easier and allow me to start designing my PCBs for the finished article.
Has anyone had any other using the Grove stufff to finish your projects or am I silly for not considering this sooner?

Not a hands on approach...but just my thoughts
I was looking into smart home sensors and thought the idea of a universal connector (2 pins + 2 power) is great for expandability. Then i realized the connectors are not really universal - some sensors need ADC pins, some need I2C, some PWM and some can use regular I/O, some need more than 1 connector. None of the shields/modules is capable of offering all that simultaneously on every connector - that's why you see them labeled and in the end still need to know on which arduino pin to connect it to.
So in the end they are not universal or worth it. Just buy the regular modules which makes it easier to understand if you need to hook it up to specific pins or not.
