HACKER/MAKER Scene in GERMANY

So, I will be visiting Germany in August, and need to plan my itinerary from now, to get flight tickets and visas and everything.

Wanna know about places of interest to a hardware hacker / maker. HackerSpaces ? Fab Labs and such - Museums, places to go... ??

My primary travel is to and fro from Cologne and will be staying for 2 weeks in AACHEN for a course - ROS SUMMER School 2017 - but want to do a 2 week tour or stay at some other places as well.

If you're anywhere near Berlin, you should hit up C-base. (And Berlin is awesome on its own.) Videospielkultur is also there.

There is at least a CCC in Aachen, and probably a few makerspaces associated more directly with the university. You'll probably get better local tips from those folks -- I'd start there.

You already found the list on Hackerspaces.org, so you're in good shape if you end up travelling.

Germany is actually a whole country. :) Listing all of the spaces and scenes that are worth visiting is hard. Heck, I live in Munich and haven't ever been to the Computeum. There are four or five hacker/maker spaces here alone, each with slightly different flavors and emphases.

My plan is for August and I dont know how much I will get, but I am a guy who likes to plan... :) so lets see which places I actually get to visit.

Berlin and Munich are high on the list though.

from a search on Hackday found about MakerFaire berlin and Vintage Computing Festival Berlin (VCFB) - but it looks like I will be missing both - one is in June and the other in October.
