Decently priced decent and compact camera

I am looking for a camera/image sensor for a project.  It needs to be compact and at least 5megapixel at 30fps, but cameras like that seem to be priced from 150$ each on digikey and mouser.  I would use ebay but for this project I do not want to use it, nor aliexpress/alibaba.

It seems like the pi cameras would be perfect, like the Sony IMX219 or something.  The only problem with using a pi camera module is that it's too big - I need just the chip/sensor.

Any ideas?  Can the cameras used in things like the pi camera module be sourced reasonably?
