Lately, I’ve developed a deeper appreciation for early white border Magic cards, especially those from the Unlimited edition. There’s a stigma around white borders that I believe will eventually fade. These cards are essentially Beta in every meaningful way, just with a clean white frame that actually complements the art and makes near mint condition really stand out. I’ve come to see that white border can enhance the overall look, especially for artifact cards, giving them a timeless and display-worthy feel. As the market tightens on near mint Unlimited cards, I think collectors will start to recognize their value both financially and as vintage pieces of Magic’s history.
