Recently got some high voltage diodes of unknown properties. Decided to measure their breakdown voltage and estimate their specs based on similar sized models. This was a bit challenging due to the high voltage nature and my measurement setup, for breakdown voltage I am rounding to the nominal standard diode voltages (within 1kV). The leakage current at high voltage my meter only incremented in 100nA, so we are limited, I would expect these are inline with other typical ~1990's-2000's HV diodes.
Diode Parts:
- H1601-30
- CS140U10
H1601-30 Specs:
Measured the forward voltage:
- V Breakdown = 20kV (>10uA)
- I Leakage @ 15kV = 250nA ± 50nA
CS140U10 Specs:
Measured the forward voltage:
Measured Breakdown Voltage & Leakage:
- V Breakdown = 10kV (>10uA)
- I Leakage @ 7kV = 100nA ± 50nA
