If you won The Hackaday Prize would you take the Space trip or the money?

What do you expect? A space trip as safe as taking the bus? If you want to take the chance to go to space then you have (nowadays) to accept the fact that this might be your last trip ever. Man didn't reach the moon by saying: well that might be a bit dangerous.
I don't want to say that everyone has to accept this fact, taking the money is absolutely understandable!
But those who complain about the virgin incident should think about their expectations of tourist space traveling.
Good thing about the virgin thing (condolences to the family), is that it can be learned from it to avoid such things in future.
Wernher von Braun once said: Every rocket launch fail where we can figure out what went wrong is a success.
To come back to the original question:
You have to confronted with the decision, I guess that I would like to go to space but I'm afraid my family would try to change my mind :)

A trip into space is an opportunity and opportunity comes once in a lifetime, nothing will be comparable with it.
But in the real world my 25 years mortgage changes my life for more than just one day, and maybe going back to school with spare money is even better

what will you buy that is more awesome than pissing in zero G?! shitting in zero G? wanking in zero G? there are so many body fluids, so little time!
don't even tell the wife there is an option. wussies.
i don't have an arduino, or i'd win that thing and go to space instead of you cry babies with your mortgages. also, a house? for 100k? hahahaha you non californians are quaint.

You know, Hackaday, it occurs to me that if you can afford to throw someone into space for $200k, you could quite likely tack maybe $10k cash on top of that somehow. A thought for (if there is a) next time ;)

Sorry for being boring, but that's how life goes.

However, in real life if I won the prize don't think I could turn down the cash with a clear consience while living in a country where 40% of kids are orphans, 95% of people are unemployed and the vast majority of the population live under a dollar a day...
