Cost-Effective 3D Printing as a Service
ap0l0 wrote 02/23/2019 at 13:54 • 0 pointsI will work on a project soon and I need to 3D print (for the first time) a chassis. I did a quick Google search and there are a lot of providers offering 3D printing services but none of them seem Cost-Effective (1 unit) provider.
Do you know any cost-effective provider for printing prototypes in the U.S? Or are any of you guys in the South Florida area? I can pay you for printing it and send it :-)

8 inches is pretty big, but if there's any way to design in multiple pieces to fit on the 6" bed, something like a used Da Vinci Jr Pro is around $220 dollars, and is extremely easy to use(Just be sure to get a super thin print removal tool so you don't break anything, the removal tools that come with almost all printers suck).
Like for real, the Jr Pro is fantastic. Their DRMed printers obviously suck but their pro line is super solid and reliable.
Even cheaper is the Monoprice mini v2, but it's not quite as polished in some ways.
The Realthunder fork of Freecad(Not the official one yet) is a totally decent although slightly crashy open source CAD app, and that's really all you need to just start printing. I've even designed models in FreeCad on a $100 used laptop from eBay.

It seems like you are posting in a good place to find someone. Can you post the approx size any maybe someone can give a rough estimate? Also, do you have a CAD file for the design? Or do you need someone to draw it also?

I don't have the CAD file or size at the moment, it will be an 8inch screen support panel.
