The instruction set is Z80 based and they have on-chip peripherals. http://www.cpushack.com/2014/07/10/cpu-of-the-day-nec-78c11-sample-and-the-78k-family/ Problem is they are in a QUIP-64 packages with 0.05" pin spacing and staggered rows so no socket or adapter is readily available. According to that page they were meant to be soldered in. Maybe I should just give them away for the cost of postage to anybody who needs them as spares for equipment. PM me if you can use them.
