What to do with a couple of NEC (μPD 7801 and 7810G) QUIP-64 MCUs?
Ken Yap wrote 03/03/2019 at 00:31 • 0 pointsThe instruction set is Z80 based and they have on-chip peripherals. http://www.cpushack.com/2014/07/10/cpu-of-the-day-nec-78c11-sample-and-the-78k-family/ Problem is they are in a QUIP-64 packages with 0.05" pin spacing and staggered rows so no socket or adapter is readily available. According to that page they were meant to be soldered in. Maybe I should just give them away for the cost of postage to anybody who needs them as spares for equipment. PM me if you can use them.

I'd love to have them. Where in the world are you? How much do you think postage would be?
Cheers

I've got a taker already, thanks for your interest.

I have seen that package with the leads tweaked to fit in regular perfboard.

The pitch of 0.05" is still there. I've also seen a converter to 64 DIP but I'm not willing to pay 5€ plus postage for that. Better to just give it away to a good home I think.
