2. I've used ATTiny13s in the past, to safe a bit of cost. 3. It would be nice to have wireless charging, so you can make the device fully sealed. 4. Since the leds aren't on all the time (to safe battery), it may be beneficial add some blink patterns as well. Something like a single blink before showing the color. Waiting for an led to go on, to see the temperature can be annoying. The single blink will get your attention. Maybe different blink patterns for the temperatures would be helpful. For example for color-blindness. But also looking from a distance, it could be hard to see the difference between yellow and green.
4. You might be able to predict how long it takes to get the the right temperature, based of the temperature change over time. It might be nice to have an indication of how long I'd have to wait for. Could be tricky to convey this using only one led. Maybe lowering the duration between when the led is on, conveying "excitement".
