ARE WE IGNORING OUR MOST POTENT WEAPON AGAINST COVID-19?

BODY TEMPERATURE!

ELECTRIC BLANKETS AND COLD HOSPITAL ROOMS

ARE NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE!

For years we've been told by "Science" that "you don't get a cold by being cold." It has been the mantra of the medical community for decades. In more modern times researchers have examined this and found that rhinovirus (as well as others) replicate faster at lower temperatures than at body temperatures or even feverish body temperatures. That is why they prefer the sinus cavity, which is kept cooler by the flow of fresh air. Covid-19 is said to prefer the sinus cavity. Is the same true about covid-19?

Conventional wisdom allows us to think that a cold emergency room, where someone who is already afflicted with a virus may get cold extremities (Picture those extremities as breeding grounds for viruses that love cooler temperatures) is appropriate care for flu patients. They have their reasons for keeping emergency rooms cold, but are they unknowingly limiting the patient's ability to fight the virus? In the link below I found that I'm not the first one to think this.

Someone texted to me a link to a video showing how to make a temporary sauna using a hair dryer. This link was taken down for saying something that was harmful. Since I never saw it, I can't say for sure, but the person who sent it to me said that the sauna was a "cure" for the covid-19. Perhaps the advice was correct, but the statement made was over the top.

Some things to ponder:

  1. The medical authorities being used by politicians are ALL looking forward to the summer when the pandemic will ease! Why aren’t we addressing the WHY? Why will the summer ease the pandemic, and can we artificially keep the summer benefits into the fall and winter?

  2. When we were young, if you came home from getting soaking wet from a rain storm, your mom probably told you to get out of those cold wet clothes before you catch your death of cold! Do our medical institutions need to learn this lesson the “Old Wives” already know about.

  3. Though people have done some stupid things in the name of health care (blood letting for one), could there be efficacy in the combination of lots of blankets and a hot toddie, or hot tea with whiskey to "Sweat it out"?

  4. The meat packing plants have been hit hard by covid-19. In meat packing plants you must keep the temperatures cooler. In cooler temperatures peoples extremities tend to get a chill. This could be contributing to their susceptibility to the virus.

  5. Google viruses vs. temperature and you’ll find enough scientific evidence to show that this should at least be discussed in the public sphere.

Please open up this discussion around the Internet. Hospitals keep patients cold by design, but maybe that design is based on flawed assumptions. Let’s at least make those who are dictating these standards accountable to what they do with a patient’s body temperature. If their malpractice insurance is on the line, then right or wrong, this concept will get the consideration it is due.
