This is a simple pulley cord light that I made:

I used the following components:

- small DC motor,

- small 1.5 V light bulb,

- plastic rope (red),

- masking tape,

- 1 mm metal wire,

- blue tack,

- rubber band,

- high power wire insulation (attached to motor shaft),

- and an old bike light cover.

The back side has no cover:
