I don't know the Adafruit's power, maybe 120mW, you can add them until you reach 1W. You can also keep the digital parts, add a mosfet per color and add more powerful Leds. Or, like me, you can use two strips, cold and warm controled by PWM in an aluminium rail for a good heat dissipation, we've got 40W per meter here ! My all kitchen is lighted this way.
