Open Source Flight Drone & UAV Computer / Robot Controller
grrrr wrote 07/02/2020 at 14:53 • 2 pointsHello!
I'm an aerospace engineer with a good bit of personal electronics experience. I'm working on designing a modular, open source controller for use in drones, UAV, and robotics. Before laying out requirements, I figured I'd ask the community what sort of features, I/O, interfaces, etc. would be useful for a project like this.
My thoughts so far:
- ARM based
- FPGA addon module
- I2C, multiple UART, PWM, GPIO, ADC, SPI, & CAN interfaces
- MicroClick headers
- Shield style add on space

I personally would like on-board LiPo charger like BeagleBone Blue has, but for more than 2S. It removes need to have battery easily accessible. Battery monitoring is almost a must for any robot anyway and monitoring circuit is like a half of a charger :)
