Always want to get ahold of the "shop manual" from the manufacturer.  They are complete and indepth schematics on every part of the vehicle, not at all like the cheap books sold in Auto parts stores. They can be pricey sometimes depending on the vehicle as they are intended for use by professional auto mechanics. You can find any and all of the same info free online but will spend more time combing through incorrect schematics and diagrams, tons of less than accurate info, and huge amounts of frustration and new questions and concerns before ever even putting hands on a wrench.

If Haynes or Clymer don't have service manuals for your car, you are pretty much stuck with gettng the factory book. I don't know about Mitsubishi, but American car manufacturers sell the manuals with schematics. They are EXPENSIVE though. The last one I got was about $600US and that was in 2008. You might be able to find a used copy for less, but they are scarce.

Here in Belgium we have this, it is the equivalent of Haynes. You will be able to find good information, sorry it's in French but you can translate...

I have seen you tube stuff and you're right it is very helpful. Just I want something for more general knowledge not for a specific problem 

look on amazon for the service manual for your specific car make and model. haynes manuals are ok, that's what i use. they include a guide for regular maintenance. although for me, the best resource in terms of fixing stuff has been youtube, its easier to see what's happening.
