Things I've Built

SMD Prototype

I prototype with surface mount devices. It ain't pretty but it's small and dense. There are components both sides and most of the hook up is done with 36 AWG enamel copper wire.

Capacitive touch keypad

Configurable matrix, illuminated keys, USB HID interface. Completely waterproof, for embedding into a table top

Load cell data logger

The electronics inside the rocket test rig. ADC, processor, memory and USB interface.

Rocket thrust test rig

One for the pyro boys. Completely self contained, measures rocket thrust up to 250 pounds with 16 bit accuracy. Built to survive violent launch events.

Four Letter Word Generator

Tiny clock with VFD tubes and a dictionary of more than 5000 four letter words, displayed randomly for a few seconds each

Altoids clock

Nixie tube clock in an Altoids tin

Scope clock

Extremely compact scope clock, using vector graphics on a 1 inch oscilloscope tube

Tube clock

Digital clock entirely made with tubes - no ICs or transistors at all. The count is made with neon tube ring counters.
