PS-1000 (Portable Studio) X

A portable and low budget home recording studio.
The next stage

Similar projects worth following
Want to "cut" you bands demo? Low-budget? No Worry! With the PS-1000 you can do just that.

The Problem:

Nowadays with the large options of pc audio recording software like Ableton and Garage Band to name a few, have made viable the idea of a home recording

studio for the aspiring musician/band. In addition to the equal amount of platforms like Youtube and SoundCloud it has never been easier to reach and

audience. Unfortunately the Hardware is another story. With multiple expensive equipment such as Mixing Consoles, Compressors, Effects, etc. might be a

"Deal-Breaker" for some. With the ongoing low cost of computer components such as the piZero, it has created a path that we can take.

The Solution:

Merge various components to crate a Low profile, Low cost and portable solution for anyone that wants to venture into the "Home Studio" arena.

The Next Stage:

This is the next iteration of the piStudio. With it new "Modular" features, The unit will be able to be upgraded. Starting with the 4 CH unit, if you need more simply add another "Module " to add Channels and become a 24 ch console.

In order to stay in the modular "family" design changes have been made. Lets take a look.

If yo can tell there is a "break" in between the "MAIN" module and the other two modules. The way that this will work is like so.

Each module has I/O headers on each side of the PCB making it possible to have the connection to the main board.. driving the LCD is a piZero. We have Headphone output, and a dc jack to provide power to the rest of the board.

The design keeps changing. We need this to be better. With the Expand-ability feature I would like to incorporate have brought me this.

Portability is what is in mid with the PS-1000. With its new "Low-Profile" design I hope to make this more appealing to the eye.

    Check it out.

Really looking forward to seeing you get this made. I'm a trombone player and do a lot of studio work recording brass and ensembles, and am looking for something like this to make life easier!

Mute And Solo great Idea! the keyboard RCA , maybe thinking into an AUX for "Tape", idea being that most of the keyboards Roland yamaha korg  use 1/4 or xlr /Midi. The connectors on the back....OK!  Thanks for your feedback Awesome!

Great start! A few thoughts:
Mute and Solo buttons might be nice.
Having the mic/line jacks on the top might be nice for live stuff, but when it is sitting on your desk it looks messy and cluttered, so I'd probably put them on the back.
Stereo RCA inputs for keyboards / turntables / etc. might be handy.
Also, maybe XLR outputs for a PA would be nice.
It has a look like a DJ mixer, which has me wondering if having A/B selects for each channel and a central A/B mix slider might be a good idea?
Good luck!
