B-Pi

B-Pi helps you to send an alert to your family and friends in case of emergency in real-time.

Similar projects worth following
B.Pi is a small, discrete and portable low power consumption device which helps you to send an alarm to your assigned contacts when you’re in a dangerous situation, it can be carried as an accessible key chain or a clip.

With B-Pi you can:
• Send your location to your assigned contacts in an emergency so they can take preventive actions.
• Know the location of your contacts, family and friends who has B-Pi via our platform.
• Send a message automatically to your contacts if you need to tell them that you have arrived to a place. B.Pi is not only a device but a virtual platform to ensure a great tracking experience.

The tracking is achieved with a GMS-GPS module which will be always connected to a mobile data network in order to make an autonomous device and not only and extension of a smartphone, but still it could be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth to optimize resources.

What is B-Pi?

Has three use mode:

  • The first is " Assistant Emergency " by a GSM-GPS module provide your contacts assigned your location and status in case of a dangerous situation or emergency so they can take preventive action.
  • The second is" Always protected" by a digital platform you can know the location of your contacts , family and friends having a B-Pi device forming a safety net .
  • The third is "Mobility alerts " you can select a contact group so that you are aware of your successful arrival with a text message when you make a move from point A to point B.

B·Pi needs a virtual platform ( Web or app) and the device, both work together to give a satisfactory experience tracking. The track is going to give the device using a module GSM -GPS integrated and always connected to a mobile data network, this will be autonomous, don't need a smartphone to operate, but there the option to connect via Bluetooth to a smartphone to optimize resources. The device will have a low power consumption.

The virtual platform that will be available on PC and mobile APP , this will be administering the device , assigning contacts in case of emergency and the text that they will receive and who will see your location at all times. It will be used to view the routes of your contacts.

Our work schedule.

Be safe, Be care, B·Pi.

    Our first model.

Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you the first physical model of B-Pi.

We chose a 3D modeling, for its speed and easy handling, with this first prototype we know what we need remake the structure and needs to be a little bigger to have enough space for the electronic design.

Current measures of this model are 3x3 cm, in

Size of the device in a hand, It is small but needs to be bigger.

    Whats Next?

    • Make a second 3D model.
    • Make the connection with the Android phone
    • Make the first schematic

    B-Care, B-Safe, B-Pi.

  • Our First Steps

    Progress

In a first rapid prototyping we use an Arduino UNO development as a tablet and a GPS module to detect the location.

The Arduino Uno is used only at this stage to facilitate the portability of the code, in a future model is replaced by a smaller microcontroller (ATmega)

The selected values are important in the first stage of design, showing the latitude, longitude, date and time, these values are important to provide adequate monitoring and uninterrupted.

    Project status

At this stage of design and programming the device following the vessel we can grant the indicators:

    • Latitude 19.4126112
    • Length -99.1107979
    • Time 1132
    • Date 260516
    Whats Next?
    • A first 3D printed physical model to adjust measures components.
    • Communication via Bluetooth with an Android OS device.

    B care, B Safe, B-Pi.

B -pi has two operating modes: The first is connecting B-pi via Bluetooth with your phone ,B-pi would occupy your phone data to send messages and connect to the internet . By the time we thought of developing the platform for Android, with this app you can send the alert signal contacts that this close to you.

When B-pi works by itself , you can only send your location to predefined contacts as processing apower is less than a phone

Can you be used as anti-kidnapping ?

Of course, in a terrible case if you are in this situation (kidnapping) B-pi can help you to send an alert and your location and someone can help you or send help to your position.
