"More than half of child drownings happen within 30 feet of a responsible adult" - my pastor
Consider this: The primary causes of death for children aged 1-4 years include unintentional injury from drowning(31%), motor vehicle (25%), and fire (12%). The primary causes of unintentional death for children aged 5-9 is motor vehicle traffic (49%) followed by drowning (15%) and fire (11%).
Early response is the key to dropping these numbers to zero.
I think that saving 15% to 25% of accidental childhood deaths is not only amazing and great, but very good, and very high value. The divorce rate for death of a child is in the late 90’s – it destroys not only the life of the child who died, but their parents’ marriage, and their siblings lives. The economic and human cost is staggering, and a simple and well build solution can be meaningful. This product will return ~$10 billion per year of value to the American community.
