A threaded bar with a high pitch was taken from an old cd / dvd player. After smearing it with grease it was inserted in to a small card box. Resin was then poured to the desired level. Once set, a bit of rotational persuasion and there you have it, a perfect nut for your thread. I think the pictures describe the rest. The travel time is of course a lot quicker than normal tight pitch thread bar. This project is part of an ongoing one.
