Robot hand with Opposable Thumb

Robot hand with opposable thumb - one piece 3D printed with Flexible PLA

Similar projects worth following
I set myself a task to create a single 3D printed hand with an "Opposable" thumb.
The design I present here comes from some of my previous designs.
The Basic hand has a backplane , the flexible_ish part.
The cable ductings are built into the base and carry the Fishing Gut from wrist to finger tips/opposable thumb and knuckles.
Finished print took circa 2 hours and lifted off the heat bed like a non-stick frying pan. To help with the springback of the fingers after activation I coated on the back thin tracks of elastic silicon sealant, this worked wonders and gave a good realistic action.
Now I am awaiting some metal gear servos to finish it off...

There was only one place to go next ......... to pick up the latest version of MRL

As luck would have it Galiant GroG was live in his shoutbox, so I was quickly diverted to lots of goodies and solutions.

.... and a short time later MRL was controlling my hand now dubbed by GroG as "The Gauntlet"

The 3D printed Servo Stack has now be designed.

Designed to print no support material (using Blenders Mesh Anaysis command to check for overhangs, distortions, thickness)

....Below awaiting the HeatPlate to cool down.

Here I have attached the Flexible hand to the Servo stack.
