Live on Kickstarter!

A project log for TyroBot

Easy to build and program walking robot. Powerful 32bit microcontroller, 7 servos, touchscreen display, and 3D printed parts

If you have ever wanted to build your own little humanoid robot, the time is now! I am crowdfunding a batch of TyroBots. Check him out on Kickstarter!

You have pretty much two options:

TyroBot's brain is a controller board that hosts 7 servo motors, a rechargeable lithium ion battery, WiFi, a triple axis accelerometer, and 32 bit ATSAMD21 microprocessor. TyroBot is easy to control, whether that be right on the 2.8in touchscreen face, or with a simple arduino library.

Congratulations!

One remark about the walking gait in the video: if you straighten the foot *before* moving the leg forward, it will look less clumsy (and more like Charlie Chaplin, I guess) — I think that can improve the reception by the audience then.

good idea! that only requires moving two lines of code

Of course ideally you would do both at the same time, but that's harder to program.
