Well, this is very promising, with my homemade spectrometer Plab v2.5, I was able to actually (and accurately,) measure the relative quantum yield of Rhodamine B in Ethanol. My Reference stock solution of Rhodamine B had a quantum yield of 68.5 and two other samples hit it right on the mark with 70.1 and 70.8 percent!

All for under a hundred dollars :)-
