iot ESP8266 mesh smart switch

This project is submitted for

  • ESP8266 Micropython Contest

This project was created on 08/12/2016 and last updated 9 years ago.

Description

We are making an ESP8266 based smart switch. This could be descentralized, so you can send message between the smart switches to communicate with a far connected device with our simple mesh developed software. Our smart swich could have four devices connected at the same time to be remotely controlled by a mobile app. All without an internet connection! (Upload image is illustrative)

How about adding a ACS712TELC module to measure current? :)

Very interesting!!!

Why you only can controle four devices?

Do you use the ESP-NOW mode?

I have been interested in how to make a smart switch myself.  Looks like a great project! I wasn't sure what the best method of converting AC to DC in a compact space might be.  I had found these converters (http://www.digikey.com/en/product-highlight/c/cui/encapsulated-ac-dc?&WT.srch=1&gclid=CKWSkvSM1c4CFQupaQodgmgM-g), but wasn't sure if this was the best way to go - not to mention these can be pricey.

Hi,

I had the same idea but with those converters: http://www.newark.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?pageSize=25&st=Vigortronix&catalogId=15003&categoryId=800000087512&langId=-1&storeId=10194

But I'm also thinking that they are a little expensive.
