Our first incursion into homemade reflow soldering will be using a rather uncommon method for hobbyists, that is vapor phase soldering.

This process involves getting a special liquid to its boiling point and lowering the PCB into the vapor.

Perfluoropolyether is heated to 230°C and the vapor tends to stay on the ground because it is heavier than air.

There are a few known difficulties to this process such as the PFPE becoming really nasty stuff at higher temperatures than 300°C (HF) and getting the right temperature profile on the PCBs.

For now, the mechanical stuff and the control circuit is being designed.
