It took me an hour to build this adjustable bench top camera holder. The camera is attached with 1/4″ UN retaining screw to a piece of flat steel bar which is then attached to the metal arm. The arm is from a magnetic base that I got a while ago for my dial indicator. I am usually filming with my phone, so I got myself an universal phone holder on eBay. You adjust the position of the arm and tighten the bigger knob. The smaller knob is to secure and prevent the arm from moving up and down and spinning around the rod. The thickness of the rod is 8 mm which is the same as a shank on a dial indicator. I got the rod from some old printer. It is threaded on one end and attached to the weight plate. I like how stiff the setup is.
