This project was inspired by Asa Miller's Setup documented here.

Since I am not a big Arduino fan and have a lot of cheap TI Launchpads lying around, I wanted to base the project on the MSP430G2553. I ported mjmeli's code (Git Repo) to use for the RGBW SK6812 LEDs.

The schematics of the board and a short video can be found in this project. The code is located on BitBucket. I does one thing besides the random LED flickery: Measure the battery voltage and shut down the LED plus blink a small LED on the board (in the power switch) if the battery voltage is too low. The used 2000 mAh cell should last for almost 100 hours, so this should not be a big issue.
