I've built a bunch of ebikes for personal use, with varying levels of off-the-shelf and custom design. While doing more custom work is more time-intensive and usually more expensive, you get a lot more control of what the end product is.

I'm surprised that I've been unable to find a fully open source bicycle or ebike out there, so I want to take a shot at how close I can get. Accessibility and ease of construction are high on my list, with actual efficiency and performance being lower.

It must be fun to ride.

While life usually gets in the way, I'm going to do my best to use this place to log progress. It's my first project on hackaday.io, so let's see how this goes!
