I have received R2 PCBs and assembled one
09/22/2018 at 18:41 • 0 commentsToday I have received AEMSUCA R2 PCBs and assembled one. It works as expected, I'm glad because I have already ordered 50 PCB assemblies from ELecrow which are currently in production.
I have connected two (link) 0F 2.7V supercapacitors from AVX. When supercapacitors voltage was high enough the 3.3V and 1.8V regulated outputs were enabled

I have just ordered qty50 PCB assemblies from Elecrow
09/18/2018 at 09:07 • 0 commentsI received a lot of requests from people to sell the AEMSUCA, I did not wait for the R2 prototype PCBs to test, because I have basically tested R1 and feel confident R2 design is good, so I just moved on with ordering qty50 PCB assemblies at Elecrow.

I have designed R2
09/16/2018 at 09:20 • 0 comments1.5 week ago I have designed and ordered R2 PCBS of the AEMSUCA. With 0.8x0.6inch it's smaller than R1 (1x0.8inch). In a few days when the PCBs arrive I will assemble and test one. I want to sell these on Tindie in 5 weeks. I have just requested quotation from Elecrow for assembly of qty50. If the board works fine I will place the order asap.

I have soldered one board and brought it to life
08/24/2018 at 21:17 • 0 commentsI have soldered one board. Connected two 10F 2.7V super capacitors and waited until they were charged. I saw the voltage rise at 0.5mV per second so it would take forever before the 3.3V and 1.8V outputs are enabled. So I jump started the supercapacitor by applying a current limited 4.5V from my bench power supply. After 15s the 3.3V and 1.8V turned on.
It seems to works but the design verification still needs to be done. Bed time now, I will continue another day.

I have received R1 PCBs from Elecrow

I like the red because the copper is in nice contract with the FR4 material.
