Contracted to design and build a Spinning Wheel Display to demo regenerative braking for a booth at the Auto Show. The motion is controlled by an accelerator and brake pedal taken from a driving simulator for gaming. The angles of the pedals are read by an Arduino which in turn uses them to control the speed of the wheel. The Arduino also reports the state of motion to a computer running a motion graphic of regenerative braking. When the throttle is pressed and the wheel is accelerating or held constant, the on-screen battery is drained. When the wheel is coasting, or the brake is applied the battery is recharged.
