Drawing Machine

A drawing machine created using gears and a 3d printer!

Similar projects worth following
This is a remake of the very classic "drawing machine". This project was made in fusion 360 using the gear function that is included in the program. The hole in the arms that hold the pen are about 10 mm wide so it will fit any pen or pencil of that size.

I love these circular drawing machines! It teaches you to convert Cartesian to polar, and to think in circles instead of lines. Do you have any plans to build a working system around this design?

Cheers!

I'm trying to figure out what kind of pattern this would make, but my spatial relations are letting me down. Still, looks cool. Might be neat if the two smaller gears up top were a bit larger and had different holes that the pen arms could be plugged into, to vary the pattern.

And thanks for entering the 3D-Printed Gears, Pulleys, and Cams contest!
