I am trying to build a small radio telescope that I can use to monitor pulsars and *possibly* fast radio bursts (FRBs). For pulsar monitoring, I was planning on focusing on the HI hyperfine transition line at 21 cm (1.4 GHz). The FRBs are typically observed in the 300 - 400 MHz range, so I would have to design an observational strategy to handle both objects/phenomenon.
I am planning on using one or more SDRs for this project, along with a Raspberry Pi to handle the data coming from the SDRs.
I also need to decide on the antenna design, hopefully one that can be used for both frequency ranges.
