Completed Keyboard

A project log for Split 58

My custom split keyboard with integrated trackball and mouse buttons. Inspired by Ergodox and Keyboardio (https://shop.keyboard.io)

The keyboard completed and in use.

Here is possible to see that the 3 LEDs for the modifier keys (CTRL, ALT and SHIFT) are set for the "one key", hence the LEDs are at 50%; a layer is also active, hence the LED is to 100%.

Fist draft of the layouts of the keyboard.

Is that a trackball on the lower right? :O

I have dreams of combining my trackball mouse with my keyboard only thing stopping me is I don't have a CNC to cut acrylic. Any suggestions?

Yes, it is. 😉

I also haven't a CNC. I was also scared, but, take your time and design the dxf. After triple checking the dimensions, I've sent it to a CNC cutting company. Remember to plan exactly what you need.

And post here the final work! 🙂
