What is a hangprinter?

A hangprinter is a 3D printer that does not require a structural frame. Instead, it uses anchors on the ceiling and floor of a room and wires to suspend a platform containing the extruder. Because of its massive build volume but relatively low-cost build, this printer is by-far the most cost-efficient design in the world. In addition, the use of cables to mimic a delta style printer allows for a significant reduction in print times. The inventor of the hangprinter is Torbjørn Ludvigsen. Currently on its third iteration, Torbjørn has documented his build process and code on the website hangprinter.org.
