VerilogCreator is a QtCreator plugin. It turns QtCreator into a Verilog 2005 IDE. If you’re interested in an open-source IDE which runs on all platforms and uses resources sparingly then you might have a look at it. Syntax checking/coloring and semantic code navigation/highlighting and code completion are supported; there are build configurations for Icarus, Verilator, Yosys and Tcl. Projects can be configured using a file format similar to qmake.
The recent version supports marker based code folding (MBCF) known from Emacs and Vim which let’s you define arbitrary sections which can be collapsed and whose title is shown in the outline view for easy navigation.
Pre-built versions for Windows, Linux and macOS are available for download based on a minimal Qt Creator version called QtcVerilog.
