I have several issues with scanned magazines. They tend to be badly scanned. They are often half adverts. Colour pages (often adverts) use far more data than article text. Adverts often appear in multiple issues. They are often much bigger than they need to be. Without an index, you have to download each issue just to check the contents pages. I noticed Micro "The 6502/6809 Journal" was online at 6502.org in sizes ranging from 2.4 to 165 MB per issue (1.8 GB total). They are also at archive.org in sizes ranging from 2.1 to 33.5 MB per issue (579 MB total).I printed the contents pages into a single pdf file, which is 30.9 MB. This is about 5% of the complete collection, but still quite big. Some pages had a dark background and the text is partly unreadable. I OCR'd the contents pages to create an index.
