Yes, it can make springs. Totally satisfying to watch. The precision is incredible. I am really proud of this machine.

Yes the pitch is defined by the bending plate thickness, but since the bending plate is exchangeable, it woudl be eventually easy to change it for another thickes. But springs are not the main use case for this :)

Would the feed mechanism be powerful enough to force-feed it into an angled "cavity" to form springs? Like they do it with industrial machines: https://youtu.be/oGaKLuljDf4?t=260

At least with softer metals like brass this could work quite well I guess :)

That's some great stuff, seriously!
One question that I came up with is how well you can control the pitch of the spring. It seems like there's no actual mechanism that tilts the wire around its own axis, it just does it due to how the mechanism is set up - which means that the pitch of the spring is also locked, correct?

I wonder how changes in the straightening or unspooling part (maybe a intentional bend inside the straightening that causes the wire to twist) could affect that parameter ^^
